This August, the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging is participating in the Pepsi Refresh Project, for the chance to win a $50,000 grant aimed to INFORM, RALLY & REFRESH all around aging by producing a live production to help spread the word about aging in our communities.

The Pepsi Refresh Project is a groundbreaking initiative that will award more than $20 million this year to “great ideas that refresh the world.” Pepsi is looking to foster social good through, “people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive impact.”  The Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging will be competing against 1000+ organizations for a portion of the $1.3 million dollars to be given away during the month of August to the Top 10 projects voted on in the $50,000 category.

The Area Agency has submitted a proposal to support the production of the play ZERO HOUR.  With the $50,000 grant, the Area Agency intends to produce the play for public performances that include seniors, baby boomers and students in addition to promoting issues on caregiving through a public campaign.  ZERO HOUR will engage audiences to think about aging and provide panels of experts available to answer questions following performances.

Voting begins on Sunday, August 1st and continues through the end of the month to August 31st.  Grants will be awarded to the Top 10 ideas competing for a $50,000 grant.  We need YOUR HELP to make us one of those recipients. 

To keep you informed and up-to-date on our status, all month long we will be posting information and ways for you to continue to help us.  You can start by making a personal pledge to vote EVERYDAY and to inform EVERYONE you know.
