As the countdown begins for AgeGuide’s highly anticipated Annual Aging Summit, Mind Matters: A Lifespan Approach to Brain Health, we are offering a sneak peek into the topic. We’ll set the stage for the upcoming in-person event by hosting a virtual conversation focused on a specific and very timely aspect of brain health – equity.
AgeGuides invites you to join us on Monday, August 18, from 10:00–11:30 AM, for a Special Virtual Session, Equity in Brain Health: Advancing Support for Diverse Communities & Caregivers. This panel discussion brings together expert voices to explore one of the most urgent challenges in aging today: the disproportionate impact of Alzheimer’s and other dementias on historically marginalized communities.
Featuring a dynamic panel of leaders in brain health and caregiving, the session will delve into the structural inequities that contribute to unequal outcomes and identify pathways toward more inclusive and culturally competent support systems. Panelists include:
- Dr. Lisa Barnes, Neuropsychologist, Rush University
- Amelia Garza, Senior Manager, DEI, Alzheimer’s Association
- Sam Epps, Caregiver Specialist, AgeGuide
Together, they will discuss how Alzheimer’s and other dementias uniquely affect marginalized communities, the gaps that persist in access to diagnosis and care, and what can be done to support family caregivers.
Whether you’re a healthcare professional, caregiver, advocate, or simply someone who cares about building a more just and supportive future for older adults, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
Register now to be a part of this impactful virtual event and help shape a future where brain health equity is a priority for all.
