Elderly Service Officer/Law Enforcement Training

Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA) is looking to support collaborative Law Enforcement and community efforts including, but not limited to, the dissemination and implementation of an IDoA Law Enforcement Training presentation. This funding opportunity will be used to increase the number of Elderly Service Officers and to provide funding for Law Enforcement attending trainings.

This funding opportunity will be for minority led organizations that will serve as community liaison(s) to assist in education of Adult Protective Services to increase program awareness and reporting. Applicants of this grant would act as a liaison for an older adult alleged victim and/or family members of an alleged victim reporting abuse, neglect or exploitation.

This funding opportunity will be used to provide ‘Seed’ money for the development of new TRIADs. A TRIAD is a collaboration between law enforcement, older adults and social service agencies working together to educate and prevent older adults from becoming victims of scams and frauds.
