AgeGuide’s 51st Annual Meeting was more than a celebration—it was a call to action. Held on April 25, the event brought together staff, board members, and community partners for a powerful day of recognition, commitment, and renewed purpose in serving older adults.
We proudly honored Greg Lind, AgeGuide Board Member, with the prestigious Robert J. O’Connor Award for his outstanding service and dedication to our mission.
The heart of the meeting came from keynote speaker Sandy Markwood, CEO of USAging, who delivered an inspiring message about the critical moment we face in aging services. With programs under threat and the Older Americans Act facing unprecedented challenges, Markwood called on all of us to educate, advocate, and act boldly. Her message was clear: this is not a time for silence—it’s a time to ignite change.
From protecting home- and community-based services to ensuring vital programs for caregivers and older adults remain intact, the meeting emphasized the powerful role we all play in shaping the future of aging. Sandy reminded us: “You are the experts. You are the people older adults count on. Own it.”
We left inspired, united, and ready to speak up—not just for the programs we deliver, but for the older adults and families who depend on them every day.
Together, we will protect and strengthen the future of aging.
