Lombard, IL – The Board of Directors of AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois has elected Amy Georgakopoulos the Agency’s Board for a three-year term as a Will County representative.
Ms. Georgakopoulos is a Veteran Service Officer Senior Specialist for the Veteran Assistance Commission of Will County. She has worked with older adults since she was a Certified Nursing Assistant in the 1990’s. In her current role she helps older Veterans and their families access Veterans Administration benefits and other resources. Amy participates in senior fairs, workshops and has presented at AgeGuide’s Senior Lifestyle Expo.
“AgeGuide is pleased to welcome Amy to the Board of Directors,” said Marla Fronczak, Chief Executive Officer for AgeGuide. “Her expertise from years of service to the older adult population will be a great addition to our Board, especially the underserved Veteran population. We look forward to learning how we can better serve Veterans in our service area.”
Ms. Georgakopoulos is a strong advocate for older Veterans and in particular the Vietnam Veterans. She is also a member of the Orland Park Fire Department’s Dementia Friendly Task Force.

AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois, an Area Agency on Aging, is a nonprofit organization responsible for developing and coordinating a network of services for older persons throughout an eight-county area in northeastern Illinois.
