Lombard, IL – The Board of Directors of AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois has elected Monica Guilhot-Chartrand the Agency’s Board for a three-year term as a Will County representative.

Ms. Guilhot-Chartrand is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for SamaraCare Counseling Center in Naperville specializing in older adults. She is the Senior Services Coordinator and is interested in providing access to services that improve the quality of life and psychosocial well-being of older adults. She has a passion for promoting inclusion and diversity in service provision.

“AgeGuide is pleased to welcome Monica to the Board of Directors,” said Marla Fronczak, Chief Executive Officer for AgeGuide. “Her desire to serve older adults and break down barriers to connecting older adults to resources is inspiring.  She sees mental health as a big issue for the wellbeing of older adults, especially with social isolation. Her knowledge, passion and experience will be invaluable to our Board.”

Ms. Guilhot-Chartrand is bilingual (Spanish) and is affiliated with Association of Senior Service Providers (DuPage), American Society on Aging (ASA) and the National Association of Social Workers where she chaired the IL Chapter’s Diversity and Cultural Competence.

AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois, an Area Agency on Aging, is a nonprofit organization responsible for developing and coordinating a network of services for older persons throughout an eight-county area in northeastern Illinois.
