This spring, AgeGuide and Funded Partners will host Advocacy Breakfast Collaboratives, a series of events designed to bring together older adults, caregivers, community partners, and elected officials for important conversations about the needs of aging residents across northeastern Illinois.

These events will provide an opportunity for community members to connect directly with legislators and aging-service partners to discuss the issues that matter most, including nutrition services, caregiver support, transportation, social connection, and the future of aging programs.

Participants will hear from older adults and caregivers about their lived experiences and priorities, while local partners will share information about services and resources available to support aging well in the community. Legislators will be on hand to share their efforts related to aging and take questions.

The Advocacy Breakfast Collaboratives offer three opportunities to participate:

  • Monday, April 27 | 9:00–11:00 a.m.
    York Township Senior Center, Lombard
  • Friday, May 1 | 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
    Senior Services Associates, Aurora
  • Monday, May 4 | 9:00–10:30 a.m.
    Virtual

In-person events are a chance to mingle with other advocates, share resources and enjoy a hot breakfast together. The virtual event is accessible and convenient. Consider attending more than one!

These gatherings are an important way to elevate the voices of older adults and strengthen connections between community members, service providers, and policymakers. Join us to help shape conversations about the policies and investments that support healthy aging throughout our region.
