Lombard, IL – AgeGuide, the Area Agency on Aging, announces upcoming changes to the Family Caregiver Program in Lake County. As of Friday, October 1st, 2023, Family Services of Lake County will no longer provide Title IIIE Family Caregiver Support Services for Lake County. AgeGuide is currently in the process of identifying a new partner to begin providing these services as of November 1, 2023.
The Family Caregiver Program provides valuable resources for those who are giving unpaid care to adults age 60+ and for those with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. The program includes Caregiver Resource Centers, respite services, supportive services, legal services, Caregiver Counseling Centers, training, education, and support groups. This program is available in the eight counties that AgeGuide serves.
“We thank Family Services of Lake County for partnering with us to serve caregivers for many years.” said Marla Fronczak, Chief Executive Officer of AgeGuide. “Our caregiver services are crucial to the health and wellbeing of the caregivers in our communities. We are confident we will find a new partner organization to continue to provide this important assistance for un-paid family caregivers.”
During the transition, if you are a caregiver in need of assistance in Lake County, call Caitlyn Tolentino, Caregiver and Dementia Specialist at AgeGuide at (800) 528-2000 for more information on the Family Caregiver Program.
