Lombard, IL – AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois, the Area Agency on Aging, is pleased to announce it will expand its partnership with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet to include Caregiver Resource Center services in Grundy County as of Monday, April 1, 2024. Grundy County Health Department will remain the Aging and Disability Resource Network and a Senior Health Insurance Program provider. The Health Department will continue supporting older adults in locating resources, applying for benefits such as Medicare D, and applying for license plate discounts and ride free transit cards.

The Caregiver Resource Center, now administered by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, will provide the Family Caregiver Program, funded by the Older Americans Act. This program offers valuable resources for those who are giving unpaid care to adults age 60+ or someone with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and for relatives age 55+ raising children under 18 or giving unpaid care to adults with disabilities. The Caregiver Resource Center will also offer information and assistance and a personalized care plan that may include respite and supportive services and legal assistance. Services include financial assistance to help pay for short term supports, adaptive devices and supplies not covered by insurance.
