Lombard, IL – AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois will hold public hearings on Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27, 2021, on its proposed Area Plan for FY22-24 for older adults, caregivers and their families in its eight-county service area. The public hearings will be held virtually, and participants can register at www.AgeGuide.org/events.

The public hearings are an open forum for the public to comment on proposed services, budget, funding formula (how funds are distributed), and service priorities for older adults and their caregivers. The hearings provide an overview of the information found in the Public Information Document which details AgeGuide’s plans to meet the needs of older adults in DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.

The funding amount distributed to each service provider is subject to change due to increases or decreases in federal or state appropriations, changes to the region’s demographics, at the request of a county’s service providers, or upon the recommendations of AgeGuide’s Advisory Council or the Board’s Planning Committee. At the public hearings, the public can also provide feedback on service priorities and funding decisions. AgeGuide’s Board of Directors may choose to change the proposal based on public hearing testimony.

Copies of the Public Information Document are available on AgeGuide’s website and upon request to AgeGuide, 1910 S. Highland Ave, Suite 100, Lombard, IL 60148; phone (630) 293-5990 or (800) 528-2000. Those unable to attend the virtual public hearing may send written comments to AgeGuide at the above address. Written testimony must be received no later than Friday, June 4th, in order to be considered.
