Lombard, IL – AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois is announcing the transition of a vital older adult program in Kankakee County. The Older Americans Act nutrition services community dining program in Kankakee County will transition to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet. This transition will be effective October 1, 2022.

The Community Dining program offers older adults an enjoyable meal in a welcoming, social environment. Meals are served in community settings such as senior centers, churches, and restaurants. Besides supporting healthy nutrition, community dining offers many benefits including socialization, classes, and activities to keep older adults active and engaged. Meals are available throughout AgeGuide’s eight county service area each weekday. Any older adult 60 years or older is eligible for a meal regardless of income or assets.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, as they take the helm of this vital and popular community program in Kankakee County.” said Marla Fronczak, Chief Executive Officer of AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois. “They are an already established and trusted provider of older adult services in their community, and we are confident this will be a seamless transition.”
