Advocacy plays a pivotal role in shaping policies that support caregivers and older adults. Recently, AgeGuide’s leadership participated in a significant event to further these efforts.
Participation in the Caregiving Caucus Breakfast
On February 26, 2025, AgeGuide’s CEO, Marla Fronczak, and Advocacy Manager, Gretchen Knowlton, attended the Caregiving Caucus Breakfast in Springfield, IL. Hosted by AARP Illinois and the Illinois Family Caregiver Coalition, this event convened legislators and advocates to discuss policies supporting family caregivers. The breakfast served as a platform to highlight the challenges caregivers face and to strategize on advancing supportive legislation.
AgeGuide’s Advocacy Breakfast Collaborative
Continuing its commitment to advocacy, AgeGuide is hosting its annual Advocacy Breakfast Collaborative. These events bring together elected officials, aging network providers, local partners, and concerned citizens to discuss pressing issues affecting Illinois older adults, caregivers, and families. The upcoming events are scheduled for:
- Friday, May 2 | 9 AM – 11 AM – Maravela’s Banquet & Catering, Ingleside
- Monday, May 5 | 9 AM – 11 AM – Senior Services Associates, Aurora
- Monday, May 12 | 9 AM – 10:30 AM – Virtual
These gatherings provide a platform for community members to engage in meaningful discussions about current issues facing Illinois older adults, caregivers, and families. Attendees at the in-person events can enjoy a Cinco de Mayo-themed breakfast while engaging in these essential conversations.
Advocacy in Action: Supporting Caregiver Legislation

One such effort is highlighted on our Action Alert page, where we encourage community members to support policies that provide essential resources and protections for caregivers. By participating in these advocacy initiatives, you can help drive meaningful change and enhance the quality of life for caregivers and those they support.
