May is Older Americans Month. What better time to make a difference for older adults? While the legislative session in Springfield wrapped up their session early this year, legislators in the nation’s capitol are just gearing up for intense budget negotiations. This is the perfect time to advocate for sustainable funding for older adults and aging services in the 2023 budget.

The pandemic resulted in an increased demand for older adult services and showed us the critical importance of strengthening America’s investment into the aging network and its existing systems. Congress must recognize that funding levels for aging network programs and services need to be significantly increased on a long-term basis to serve the rapidly growing number of older adults across our nation.

We need Congress to hear directly from you, their constituent. In honor of Older Americans Month, why not ask your legislators to support the health, well-being, and independence of older adults by clicking this link and sending a letter. It’s easy to do. Your investment of two minutes of your time can make a big difference not just this month, but for a lifetime.
